-The new Hanson-Milone Safe Boating Act is in force and requires all boat operators to have a safe boating certificate.
–It does phase in for younger people (born on or after January 1, 1989) on April 1, 2026 and those born before January 1, 1989 have until April 1, 2028 to satisfy the boating course requirement. It can also be taken online as some people have done – with a cost of approx $70 including the course and the certificate.
